You know the 5-7 fencers in your group. But NCF Boulder has fencers across every age, every level, and every class on the schedule. Most of them, you've never fenced. On April 11, that changes.

What to Bring

What to Expect
Open bout format
No brackets, no scoring. Just fencing.
Rotating partners
You'll be matched with fencers you've never faced.
All skill levels mixed
Beginners and experienced fencers on the same floor.
Two hours
Enough time for 8-12 bouts depending on pace.
Coaches on the floor
Available for guidance, observation, and the occasional bout.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a competition?
No. There are no scores, no rankings, and no pressure. This is community fencing - the goal is to meet new opponents and have fun on the strip.
Do I need experience?
If you're currently enrolled in any NCF Boulder program, you're ready. Beginners will be paired thoughtfully, and coaches will be available to help.
Can parents fence?
If a parent is enrolled as an adult fencer at NCF Boulder, absolutely. Otherwise, parents are welcome to watch and cheer.
What if my child is a beginner?
Beginners are especially encouraged to attend. Fencing different opponents is one of the fastest ways to grow. Coaches will be present to keep bouts safe and productive.
How long should we stay?
Come for the full two hours or drop in for as long as you can. There's no fixed schedule - bouts rotate continuously.
